Cleveland Cavaliers unrestricted free agent guard Matthew Dellavedova is receiving some early interest at the beginning stages of free agency.
The Sacramento Kings, Atlanta Hawks, Dallas Mavericks and Milwaukee Bucks have all reached out to the camp of the Australian backup point guard to gauge interest, According to Chris Haynes of Cleveland.com.The Cavaliers have let it be known that they would like to retain his services, but it could cost them a lot of money.
Dellevadova will not meet with some of the teams that are showing interest because he is Australia preparing for the Rio Olympics this summer.
The Cavaliers would have three days to match or let him walk. Dellavedova is coming off a season in which he produced career-high numbers of 7.5 points, 4.4 assists and shot the three-ball at a 41-percent clip. Teams love to have a type of player like him on the court playing for them, but going against him, he could be really annoying on defense and he embraces that role.
DeMar DeRozan got a lot of criticism during the playoffs because he did not always play as well as he needed to. It was speculation that he might not come back to play for the Toronto Raptors, but he made it clear that it was his priorty and an deal has been made for him to stay in Toronto.
According to Shams Charania of The Vertical, DeRozan has signed an five-year deal to stay in Toronto, with $139-million plus deal That is a lot of money. This is an good thing for the Raptors because they got the core back with Kyle Lowry and DeRozan.
DeMar DeRozan has agreed to a five-year, $139 million-plus deal with Toronto, sources tell The Vertical.
The Raptors still have to work to do and try to sign an second tier free agent to help out the team. Last season, DeRozan averaged 23.5 points per game, but in the playoffs his scoring with down to 20.5 points per game. The Raptors paid him a lot of money now when the playoffs come around next season, he has to play like the money he is worth. He was expected to meet with Los Angeles Lakers, but that is not happening.
Hassan Whiteside wants a lot of money and does not care about the loyalty at all when it comes to the Miami Heat. The Heat are worry about trying to get big name free agents like an Kevin Durant or an Al Horford.
According to Shams Charania of The Vertical, Whiteside left the meeting without having an deal with Miami and will meet with Dallas Mavericks next in New York. Reading in between the lines, it looks like he will sign with the Mavericks because it has been reported that those teams are the front runners.
The Heat are in a tricky situation because they are the last ones to meet with Kevin Durant, but a lot of people believe that Durant will be back with Oklohoma City Thunder. The Heat are in a tough position at the start of free agency. Talks are stalling with Dwayne Wade, so it is tough for the staff.
Whiteside averaged 14.2 points per game, 11.8 rebounds per game and 3.7 blocks for the Heat in 73 games played last season. He has the ability to become an top big man in the league just needs to act right on and off the court. Be interesting to see if he does sign wirh the Mavericks, how much money will he get per year.
Free agency in the NBA has begun and that means that teams are getting ready to throw as much money at players as possible with the salary cap spike. Some teams are looking to add veteran players to help their team improve next season
Jared Dudley, who was on the Washington Wizards last season is drawing interest from a few teams around the league as free agency is officially going on. According to ESPN’s Marc Stein, Dudley is drawing interest from Phoenix Suns, Utah Jazz and Brooklyn Nets. The Wizards are still trying to keep the veteran away from some of those teams.
Brooklyn, Utah and Phoenix (again), sources say, are among the teams after vet swingman Jared Dudley, with Washington also still in the mix
All of those teams have younger rosters and Dudley would be able to provide veteran leadership and he’s generally considered a great teammate. He would be able to provide leadership on and off the court, but also provide solid minutes off the bench and provide some scoring that some of the teams need.
Dudley use to play for the Suns and it makes a lot of sense for them to try and bring in a veteran who is use to playing for the organization.
This is something similar to what the New York Knicks are thinking when they sign Joakim Noah because they hope he become himself after having an huge injury that set him back.Lakers are making a bet that Mozgov will regain his pre-injury form. A year ago Mogov had finals just a few weeks after having 28 points and 10 rebounds game.
The Lakers are really taking this a step at a time with new head coach Luke Walton. While Mozgov is not the best center out on the free agency, but he can block shots and protect the rim.
Mozgov averaged just 6.3 points and 4.4 rebounds last year. They obviously think they can get much more out of him next season. The Lakers are moving in the right direction under the new head coach and they have agreed on a good deal for Mosgov according to The Vertical’s Adrian Wojnarowski
.@WojVerticalNBA: Lakers, Timofey Mozgov have agreed to four-year, $64 million deal.

According an report from Tim Bontemps of the Washington Post, sources have told him that it is almost certain that former Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah will sign with the New York Knicks to reunite with his former teammates Derrick Rose. The deal will reportedly start in the $18 million range.

Free agency begins in less than 24 hours and there will be a lot of things going on. Memphis Grizzlies guard Mike Conley is one of the best guards on the market and is drawing interest from a few teams.
Conley has been viewed as one of the most underrated point guards in the league because he may not be putting up the numbers that other point guards do in the league, but he has a nice skill set that can help teams that need to fill the void at that position. While he doesn’t have the numbers of some of his contemporaries, he is steady and reliable in all facets of the game.
Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, New Orleans Pelicans and Brooklyn Nets are interested in Mike Conley according to ESPN’s Chris Broussard. This will be huge get for one of these teams., but he is going to demand the money or sign an one-year deal and wait until next summer to sign an long term deal.
This really depends on how much money Conley wants this summer. He can help a lot of those teams, but he still wants to be an position to win and compete each season. Based on those teams, Rockets are the best choice.
