The biggest free agent this summer will not do an recruiting tour because he is not that type of person and does not like making an a lot of attention. Kevin Durant is expected to meet with teams in Los Angeles according to New York Daily News’ Frank Isola, and the Golden State Warriors is his most intriguing option if he does decide to leave Oklahoma City.
Here is what he said in the Daily News:
he one player who can change the balance of power in the NBA is expected to meet with prospective teams in Los Angeles when the free-agent recruiting period beings in July, according to a source. Durant had considered holding meetings in New York, but apparently has decided to hear proposals in Los Angeles, where he owns an offseason home.
The same source maintains that if Durant doesn’t re-sign with the Oklahoma City Thunder he would prefer to join the Warriors, a team that has reached two straight NBA Finals and could rule the Western Conference for the next five years if Durant goes to the Bay Area.
The Thunder blew an 3-1 to lead to the Golden State Warriors and the Thunder still have the assets to beat the Warriors. It was just some plays down the stretch that would have changed the series. Durant could sign back with the Thunder for one year and make more money next summer.
Durant does not want to be traveling with a lot and if teams are really interested in him, they would fly out to see him instead of him coming the city that the team is in. This is one of the biggest decisions that he will be making. He seems that he does not care about the money, he just wants to be in a situation where basketball is the main focus.
